Obviously going through the info on Tiger… Spotlight looks absolutely amazing! Now I officially get the Longhorn jokes from this morning… the use of the sidebar is pretty heavy through some of the new apps for quickly calling attention and sorting details.

Actually, the jokes relate to WinFS, a file system that microsoft is hoping to implement in Longhorn. WinFS will have support for Metadata (”data about data”), which is what Apple uses in Tiger to do the searching for obscure attributes. Apple’s already surpassed what Longhorn will be able to do with Metadata when it ships in several years.
