Yesterday I had to head down to Soho and on my way back the R Train that arrived was a vintage 1940 subway car. It was pretty cool to ride it. Noisier than today’s train, but in many ways I found it to be nicer. It felt like there was more space. You could smell oil pretty intensely but I think that’s just part of the deal.
