While not exactly what I am looking for, this is a very cool and very compelling new use for the camera’s we have on our phones…
Bangalore based Motvik, is alpha testing their software WWIGO (pronounced ‘vigo’), which means “Webcam Where I Go”, which enables a cameraphone to stream live video to a laptop computer. [picturephoning.com:]

The current alpha supports some S60v2 edition devices… I hope they’ll up things to S60v3 – but I’ll need a Windows machine in order to actually try it out which will certainly limit my abilities for now.

There’s also a program that I’ve been using, called Mobiola Webcam, that allows you (via bluetooth or the data cable) to use your phone as a webcam. There’s a version for S60v2 and v3.

It is hard for me to commit a date right now except to say it will take a few more weeks to be made available on S60 v3 devices. The initial version of the software will be made available for free.

Check out SmartCam, released under GPL is available from https://sourceforge.net/projects/smartcam. Currently tested on Nokia 6600, the project can grow to support Series 60 3rd edition phones.
Do you know if there’s a webcam solution for Apple’s iPhone?… i’ve been looking for any software capable of enabling iPhone’s built in camera to be used as a webcam, but i just can’t find anything….
If you want such functionality on a Mac, get Movino from SourceForge.net. Just tried it with my Nokia N95 and it works as a webcam with my Mac. And it’s free!
