Call Looping

As I mentioned in the previous post I am using the Vonage softphone to handle my calls while I am out of range for T-Mobile this week. I just did an interesting trick I thought I’d share for the other person who might find this interesting. my T-Mobile mobile is forwading to my main Vonage line which is forwarding to my Vonage Softphone. Basically all calls are being routed to my softphone which is very cool – at least to me.

  1. Been there. Done that. Glad to see you can do it too.

In Europe, last November. Forwarded main line in home office to Vonage. Set Vonage up in hotel room and brought along my own WiFi router. Made room wireless. Brought along my own cordless phone. Plugged into Vonage. When I was sipping wine at Willi’s Wine Bar or having dinner at L’Atelier de Joel Roubouchon’s if Vonage didn’t answer because I wasn’t there, I had Webley in follow me mode, pointing to my cell phone on Orange in France (bought the SIM @ FNAC). If I didn’t answer because I was in mid flight (of wine) Webley took messages and emailed them to me.

As far as a softphone, I did that with iConnectHere and had a Skype Out like experience..glad to see great minds think alike…

    Enjoy your vacation..
